“This is the day that the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

– Psalm 118:24

Those of us who are military wives and moms know we sometimes have days that start off bad and end up even worse. Days where we feel out of sorts, out of step, out of energy, or maybe just plain fat! We say things we shouldn’t say, in a voice we shouldn’t use, to anyone within our reach. Days of failure and defeat. Some days do you just want a redo?

Guess what? We have one! We can start out fresh. It’s called tomorrow. The Bible tells us that God’s mercy allows us another chance; God gives us a new start every 24 hours.

“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

– Lamentations 3:22-23

No matter what storm came into your life, what “bomb” went off the day before, a new day always starts out fresh. Guess what? First thing in the morning, God is waiting for you to get you through every step of your day, even if it means carrying you.

Every day of parenting is a new day, a new beginning, a new chance to enjoy your children. Each morning is a fresh start in your marriage, to build together the rest of your life. Each day is another opportunity to strengthen your friendships.

Most importantly, every new day is a new day with God. We can focus on the things that matter the most: worshipping Him, listening to Him, spending time with Him. It doesn’t matter what happened yesterday. He is standing with open arms waiting to give you a “do over.” Tomorrow, we can do better; rejoice and be glad in it!
