Adapted from a devotion originally written by Millie Stamm for Meditation Moments for Women.

“I will sing a new song to you, O God! I will sing your praises with a ten-stringed instrument.” Psalm 114:9

At Thanksgiving time we are especially reminded to take time to praise God. Do you realize that you have a ten-stringed instrument?

One night at a prayer gathering, an older person began to pray, “Lord we will praise you with our instruments of ten strings.”

People in the service were confused, but then he explained…

We will praise with our eyes by focusing on God.
We will praise with our ears by listening to His voice.
We will praise with our hands by working to serve.
We will praise with our feet by running in His paths.
We will praise with our words by speaking of God’s loving-kindness.
We will praise with our hearts by loving God above all.
We will praise with our mind by renewing it in Him.
We will praise with our strength by helping others stand.
We will praise with our blessings by sharing them freely.
We will praise with our prayers by surrendering to Him.

We praise God best by placing the ten-stringed instruments of our lives in His hands and allowing Him to play His melody of life.

Instruments of ten strings- our lives- in tune with God and available to Him for His use will bring praise to His name.

May our lives be a continual Thanksgiving.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
