“People won’t remember you by what you say or do, but by the way you made them feel”

-Maya Angelou

“For every action there is a reaction and before every action there is an attitude.” This is my favorite quote ever because it’s true.  We are 100% in charge of our attitudes and what happens in us determines what happens through us.

In Philippians 2:3-5, Paul urges us “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”

Jesus set the example in his attitude and actions. For instance

Attitude: be humble, not haughty. Action: be considerate of others (being aware of people around us, hearing their story, their pain).

Attitude: pour ourselves out, not fill ourselves up. Action: serve with others in mind.

Attitude: obedient, not controlling. Action: sacrificial love.

When we choose to follow Jesus and remember daily what he has done for us, our actions should reflect his spirit and attitude. He never lets us down. He spends his time building us up for action.

I have experienced all of these things in my 24 years with Stonecroft. I am grateful to see these attributes in Stonecroft volunteers as they are considerate, serve, and extend sacrificial love to other women. These volunteers want others to experience his love through his Word. They pray together, plan outreach gatherings, and share the gospel with others so they, too, can experience the same love and connection God has for their lives as well.

In the kingdom of God, downward mobility leads to upward trajectory.

Stonecroft volunteers act as salt and light as they take Jesus’ Gospel to women where they are, as they are.

Come find your place in the Stonecroft story. Oh! What an amazing experience it will be.
