Greetings from really warm Overland Park, Kansas! I am stunned that last week we experienced snowflakes here and temperatures reached 89 degrees. Winter to summer in one week! Please know that any time you are in this part of the country, we welcome you to visit the Stonecroft Home Office – rain, snow, or sun!

LPKI received a lovely card recently from one of our Prayer Connections. It reminded me how your prayers have sustained my family over the last few years. The girls and I will remember the third anniversary of my husband and their father Rick’s death on April 3. I often remark to friends how amazed I am by how well Charlotte and Corinne are doing despite a cross-country move and the loss of their dad. I attribute this in part to your prayers on our behalf. Thank you!

It’s been a long time since I addressed all of you personally, so I thought I’d give you a little update about our family so you can see the results of your prayers.

Charlotte, our 18-year-old, felt led to attend a Christian university and wanted to study film. She was accepted in Biola University’s competitive film program, so she now resides in Southern California as a freshman. She loves her university and her studies. As I read Charlotte’s college applications, I saw how clearly God had worked in her life to teach her the truths of her favorite passage, Romans 8:31-37. She learned through our move to the Kansas City area and her dad’s death that God would never leave her or forsake her. God blessed Charlotte with a wonderful group of Christian friends and teachers at the high school God led Rick and me to have her attend. That school also sent Charlotte on her senior missions trip to Jamaica. She came home from that trip and later from college with a conviction to become better acquainted with God’s Word and more serious about her faith. I can’t tell you how this news touched my heart – to see God start to answer my lifelong prayer that my girls would love Jesus and the Scriptures!

Corinne and I now reside with two poodles – Scarlet and Coco – in our Overland Park home. Corinne is 14 and a high school freshman. She’ll go next year to the same Christian high school her sister attended. Corinne and I both want her to develop closer girlfriends. Please pray she finds these friends in her new high school. Corinne plays competitive soccer, takes piano lessons, and plays violin in her high school orchestra. She voluntarily asked to attend Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at her school. I am an avowed night person, but I gladly (well, not always gladly) arise very early on Tuesdays to make sure she can attend these meetings. She is also faithful to join her girls’ group at our local church.

I am constantly amazed to watch God moving through Stonecroft staff and volunteers so that many more women are introduced to Jesus for years to come. I often feel like I am along for the ride while God works miracles around me every day! I love our fantastic staff and volunteers! The biggest prayer request for me is the wisdom, time and discipline to manage all my work and home responsibilities. By God’s grace I’ve made a renewed determination to spend quality time with the Lord this year. He promises that if I seek Him with all my heart, I will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). He has certainly started to deliver on that promise!

So, that’s our family in a nutshell. I wanted you to know how well things are going because your prayers truly have carried us and this ministry. I can’t tell you how much it encourages me to know you, my friends, hold our family up in prayer during all seasons. I trust you all have a wonderful spring and that your Good Friday and Easter celebrations draw you even closer to the heart of our Savior.
