“When (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”

Helen Duff Baugh saw people the way Jesus did. She had deep compassion on everyone she passed. She wondered if each person knew about God’s love – and the way to eternal life. She was burdened – compelled – to tell any and every one about Jesus. So, Mrs. Baugh shared the Gospel ceaselessly!

Then she gathered 24 San Jose, California, prayer groups to pray for new avenues by which to share God’s love with people in the community. The next year God answered Mrs. Baugh’s prayer, and she started the first Stonecroft evangelistic outreach: the Christian Business Women’s Council of America.

Mrs. Baugh saw the harvest and prayed for avenues by which to share the Good News – and she prayed for workers.

And they came!

Stonecroft volunteers eventually shared the Gospel in more than 2,000 U.S. locations and 60-plus countries!

Last year, we prayed for God to open our eyes anew to have even greater compassion for those who don’t know Jesus. We prayed for broken hearts for the lost, for a revival in our hearts and the hearts of all Christians and those who don’t yet have a relationship with God.

This year – the year we celebrate 80 years of Stonecroft’s Gospel ministry – we continue to pray. We ask God for a larger harvest and for more workers.


We want to pray more often and with more faith! We want more first-time guests to attend our outreaches. We want more women to engage in evangelism as Stonecroft volunteers – as harvest workers. We want more younger women to reach out to their peers more often with more new avenues of outreach. We need more donations to keep this ministry going for years to come. And we want many, many, many more women to begin a relationship with the God of the Universe through His Son, Jesus Christ!

We want more. We want Immeasurably More!

So we pray without ceasing for more. And we hold on to the words of the Apostle Paul:

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, …” 

– Ephesians 3:20, NIV (emphasis ours)

There is nothing our God can’t do!

He flung the universe into existence with His word. He paid for eternities of sins in a moment on the Cross. He transformed my life and yours.

As we gather across the U.S. to celebrate 80 years, let’s focus on God’s ability to do “Immeasurably More.”

Let us join together to believe that our great God can and will do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine in this coming year!

Let’s pray and plan and proceed, trusting that God will help us take the Gospel to immeasurably more women, this 80th Anniversary year … and for many years to come.
