Pauletta-StaleyPrescription for Peace

As I travel around the country I hear from women everywhere about how busy their lives are. Some women have described their homes as “out of control” and “filled with over-commitment and anxiety.”

Do you ever feel like you are on a crazy Merry-Go-Round and you just can’t seem to get off? As women, no matter our season of life, we can easily allow our world and culture to define our lifestyles. Many things can rob our peace as we serve our Christ, live our lives, and mentor others.

God created us in His image and desires to teach us how to live in order to experience the “abundant life” here and now. The apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians that God has called us to live in peace.

Isaiah 26:3 says,

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”

The real prescription for peace is given to us in Philippians 4:4-6. If you need more peace, write these verses on an index card and read them frequently, until they become a part of your heart and belief system. This is how you will experience God’s peace, “which exceeds anything we can understand” and “His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

It is in this peace that we most reflect and share God’s love. As we pray for and reach out to women where they are, as they are, go in peace.

Special Note: I am so pleased to announce that we have just hired a new Divisional Field Director for the North West Division: Rachel Fou, who lives in Portland, Oregon. Please join me in welcoming Rachel and thanking the Lord for sending her to us.
