Shirley Voorhees serves in the dual role of Receptionist and Assistant to David Earle, our VP of Stewardship. She brings experience, skills, and talents in office management and church administration, as well as a background in behavior profile training. “I am passionate about helping people understand how God wired them and how to align their personality with their God-given purpose,” she says.

Shirley loves that the staff begins each day with prayer, often reading and discussing a Psalm before we pray. “I would say that Psalms is my favorite book because sometimes I am quite like David in my conversations with God. David is real in sharing his struggles, yet it shows how gracious God is in allowing us to ‘reason together’ with Him in those times of struggle.”

Shirley and Ray, her husband/“best friend,” have been married for 49 years and live in Overland Park, Kansas. They have five adult children and 17 grandchildren, whom Shirley describes as “the highlights of our life.”

Shirley takes her grandchildren on “surprise adventures” so she can create lasting memories with them.

“I believe women are world-changers because of the influence we have in our families, in the workplace, and with our friends,” Shirley says. “I strongly connect with Stonecroft’s goal to reach women where they are, as they are.”
