Nicole, a military wife with two young children, moved with her family to F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne 4-1/2 years ago. Like many other military wives, she was lonely and wanted to meet other women to do life with. After some time, she attended a fun, Stonecroft event where she met other military wives, heard a great speaker and was invited to a Bible study.

Now, she serves with the Stonecroft Military team to help plan and prepare for events. The team members set up the meeting places, bring food, and perform other tasks as they strive to make everyone feel welcome. Even Nicole’s mother and husband help out with child care when needed. Offering child care is an important part of getting military wives to the activities, she says.

Cheyenne’s military events are varied with painting parties, cookie exchanges, tattoo discussions, and Detox balanced living events. There’s a lot of diversity in military spouse culture. “We have different walks of life, but we have the military in common,” Nicole says. She is excited to participate in the military ministry to “reach the women where they are, as they are.”

Nicole looks forward to Cheyenne’s Military ministry growing and reaching even more women. “I love to do this,” she says, “and there’s a need for it.”
