Stonecroft welcomes new staff member Kaitlyn Chavez as a Ministry Support Representative. She started June 1 at the Home Office.

Kaitlyn holds a bachelor of arts degree with a major in history from College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. Throughout college, she worked on a team serving customers at the Keeter Center, a dining, lodging, and meeting center on campus, near Branson. Kaitlyn also served in the college’s mentoring program for new students and was a member of the school’s honor society. After college graduation in December 2016, she substituted as a teacher in her hometown of Purdy, Missouri.

“Kaitlyn is a woman of faith and brings a heart for ministry and customer service,” says Dale Shelton, Stonecroft’s Ministry Support Manager. “She shared that God has placed women’s ministry on her heart and that she has longed to be part of a ministry geared toward authentically and genuinely sharing God’s love with women, regardless of their past or present. We are delighted to welcome her to our Ministry Support team!”

Kaitlyn says her favorite Bible story is about the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her hair and her tears – and then anointed Him with perfume (Luke 7:36-50). “She literally humbles/humiliates herself to the point of using her hair and her tears to wash His feet in front of all those judgmental men in a place where she doesn’t belong,” Kaitlyn notes. “And she’s so ashamed of herself that she doesn’t even come before Jesus; she stays behind him. And Jesus, in front of everyone, acknowledges her, praises her for how she approached Him, and tells her she is completely forgiven. It’s such a powerful story – that Jesus sees us, knows us, forgives us, and loves us even in the middle of our mess.”

A newlywed, Kaitlyn lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with her husband, Stephen, a finance professional. In her free time, she enjoys working out with her husband and composing music. See and hear Kaitlyn perform some of her original music here.
