Red is an outcast in his community. As much as he tries to get along with others, he seems to always let them down. When they respond with chastisement, Red gets angry. You see, as a youngling, Red was mocked for his huge eyebrows – and not having any parents or friends.

Red is a fictitious bird from the most downloaded free app game series of all time, “Angry Birds,” and its recent feature film. His story is about the heart and soul. It’s about recognizing difficulties, overcoming, and being victorious. Each of us can relate to Red in some way.

In this inspiring story, Red’s bird community comes under attack by green pigs who want to steal all their eggs. In Red’s good anger for protecting what is right and just, he is compelled to not let this happen so he steps up and leads the way to defeat the pigs. His actions open the eyes of the entire bird community. United, they fight the good fight, defeat the pigs, and get their eggs back. That’s victory!

Red has found his purpose in life.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

– Romans 8:28

As believers, we get the message of this story loud and clear: the adversary is always at work trying to sabotage our lives. And as the birds chose not to succumb to their enemy, they became proactive and prepared themselves for battle. God wants us to be proactive, and through His Word, we receive knowledge and power to be women of purpose and ready for battle.
