Launching a Second Christian Women’s Club
The Villages (Florida) South Christian Women’s Club (CWC) Planning Team was overjoyed! God did great things! And it was only their second luncheon.
“All [women on the Planning Team] feel so blessed to have such a great turnout,” said Sherian Mulholland, Chair of the new Group. “The Planning Team couldn’t believe we would have success so quickly.”
Quick it was. 100,000 residents live in The Villages community in central Florida and it’s still growing. When attendance at the original Villages CWC consistently ran 300 women, the leadership decided to start a second Group in the southern area of the community. Sherian accepted the Chair position and the Planning Team was in place by the end of May.
130 women enjoyed November’s debut luncheon, including 40 first-time attenders. But that’s not all: three women began a relationship with Christ! The next month, 133 women showed up at the event with 54 first timers. Two more women became believers that month!
“[God’s] presence is very much noted. The northern [original] Group has not seen a decline in attendance. God helped get the word out. We didn’t think all the Planning Team positions would be filled so quickly and we got the Speakers confirmed early,” Sherian said. Both sessions of the Prayer Connection have also been well attended. “All of our planning and prayer was heard; God blessed us with unbelievable attendance and we reached almost 100 first timers in two months.”
