But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

-2 Thessalonians 3:3 (ESV)

In the past weeks and months, I have experienced God’s faithfulness. You know what I mean. You encounter a circumstance, a relationship, a conflict, and the next thing you know, healing, mercy, and resolution present themselves in what seems to be miraculous ways.

It happened again just last week. My family and I were driving down a crowded freeway and we came upon a horrific car accident that had just taken place. Chaos everywhere, my husband swerved our mini-van away from the incident and we kept on driving. Safely. Secure. No harm.

Sitting in the back seat I quietly whispered, “Thank you, God.” About that time my 15-year-old son leaned over to his dad and said, “Thank you, Dad.” Yes, we’re thankful for the quick thinking of Dean and thankful for the covering and protection God provided that day.

Stonecroft experiences that kind of protection. For many years my co-workers would share how they prayed a canopy of protection around Stonecroft and the property we were on. Today we do the same as we pray for the many programs through which we serve and share the Gospel. And, God’s faithfulness resides in each one.

In a conversation with a new employee, she shared how she wanted to be assured that the Gospel was clearly presented in every program. My heart was touched as I listened to her share Stonecroft’s vision with clarity and without compromise. And I thought to myself, “God’s faithfulness at work again.”

For those of us who have served the Lord for many years, it seems to me that this should be a familiar faithfulness. It shouldn’t surprise us. We should count it like we do the loyalty of a longtime friend. That is God’s character. He is faithful.

Today, when you pray for this ministry, thank God for His keeping and covering over us. If you are a speaker, ask God to help you see His faithfulness to you as you share the complete Gospel. If you are a chair or planning team member, take a moment to give God praise for taking care of your local Women’s Connection and giving each woman attending the encouragement needed. If you are a Stonecroft Bible Study guide, host, or volunteer leader, thank God for His faithful Word today. Thank Him that He never, ever changes.

God is faithful, my friends. If you are not familiar with His faithfulness, ask Him to show how very present He is. Take a moment and write a list of areas where He has proven himself faithful this last week!

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
