Hello, (name of group).

As you sit at your tables today, I’m sure you’ve been chatting with those next to you. I’d like to take a moment to get an overview of what you talked about. Can three or four of you tell us the topic you discussed? (teasingly) Just the topic, please, not the details. (Give a minute for 3-4 to respond).

No matter if you’ve been getting to know someone for the first time or simply catching up with a longtime acquaintance, you’ve shared stories. These snippets of our lives help us grow friendships, bring families closer together, entertain, and teach truths.

Samantha, a young mother of four and Army wife, has discovered how telling her story brought her healing from a deep loss. Not long ago, as she lunched with some military wives, a Stonecroft Military team member asked the group, “What is the one thing in life you’re struggling with?”

Samantha took a risk and responded with her difficult story of the death of her 5-month-old daughter from sudden infant death syndrome. Even though the loss occurred six years ago, she’d recently entered a new stage of grief. Talking about the situation was a healing activity she needed to navigate through what she’d been experiencing.

Since then, Samantha has become involved in more Stonecroft Military activities and desires to help others through her story. She’s now working with Stonecroft volunteers to craft her message to become a Stonecroft Military speaker, where she can bring help to military families grieving the loss of a child.

Women of all ages and walks of life have stories that can encourage others through the tough times. Some of these potential storytellers lack opportunities. Others need confidence. And still others seek training to learn how to share their message.

Stonecroft helps women across the country, like Samantha, learn to tell their stories with encouragement, opportunities, and resources.

In a few moments, we’ll give you an opportunity to support women who want to share their stories. Your gift today will bring hope and healing through the words of these storytellers to listeners facing hard situations or just weary in their daily lives.

It takes an average of $137 to support and prepare a woman to share her story. If each person at your table gives $17, your table can give one woman the training and confidence to share the message of hope with those around her.

Your tax-deductible gifts can be placed in the envelopes. On the envelope flap, you have the opportunity to make a one-time gift or a monthly donation. You can make your donation by credit card, check, or cash. If using cash, please provide your information on the envelope flap. You will receive a receipt. Your table host is passing around a larger envelope to receive your envelope.

Because you give today, women around the country will hear the hope-filled messages they need from ready and prepared storytellers. Thank you.
