Stonecroft Announces Staff Transitions

Whitney Putnam and family

Stonecroft announces the hiring of Whitney Putnam as Ministry Engagement Director and the transition of staff member Maddison Berciunas to Leadership Development and Divisional Field Director effective April 1.

Whitney will help people to partner with Stonecroft so more women can experience the love of Jesus. Her position will involve traveling and meeting with volunteers, showing them appreciation, and connecting with them to create a flourishing future for the ministry.

Whitney is the founder of Imperfectly Brave, a women’s ministry focused on creating a lifestyle of prayer and community. A speaker and an author, she also has served in development roles for several nonprofit organizations since graduating from Texas Christian University in 2007. Currently, she is working toward a master’s degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.

Whitney’s husband, Michael, is a pastor in the Kansas City area. The couple has three daughters.

In her new assignment with Stonecroft, Maddison will serve as Divisional Field Director (DFD) for Colorado and in Leadership Development. As a DFD, she will travel periodically to Colorado to serve volunteers in person but will continue to live in Kansas City with her family.

Maddison has served on Stonecroft’s staff the past 4 1/2 years, most recently as Coordinator of Outreach and Internationals. During her time at Stonecroft, she spearheaded our efforts in a pilot hub in the Kansas City area, started and co-hosted Stonecroft’s Ears to Speak podcast, and helped to develop and pilot outreach resources. She also worked closely with Stonecroft’s international partners.

Stonecroft Welcomes New Women’s Connection in South Dakota

Congratulations to our newest Women’s Connection in Brandon, South Dakota!

“It’s wonderful to see the great interest and support from women in the Brandon area (near Sioux Falls) to initiate a Women’s Connection group there!” said Cynthia Sheppard, Stonecroft Regional Administrator in South Dakota. Cynthia and some other Stonecroft leaders in the region have been meeting with these women for the past two months to train the Planning Team and to prepare for the group’s first meeting on April 15.

“There are a number of women, many of them in their 30s and 40s, who have a vision for reaching women in Brandon and the surrounding area,” Cynthia said. “Many are newcomers to Stonecroft, and they have been learning much about this opportunity to present the love of Jesus to women where they are, as they are. We appreciate your prayers as the new group is launched, as there are many women in Brandon and several nearby communities who can be reached.”

“We’re so excited to welcome to the Stonecroft family this new Women’s Connection in South Dakota!” added Doris Thompson, Stonecroft’s Vice President of Transformation. “We can’t wait to see how God is going to use these women to boldly share the life-transforming message of Jesus Christ in their area! Please join us in praying for them as they begin the journey of reaching women with the Gospel through Stonecroft.”

Women’s Connection Group Supplies Catalogs on the Way

It’s time to order Group Supplies! During the first week of April, Chairs and Stonecroft Regional Leaders should receive a copy of the Groups Supplies Catalog showing the 2019 supplies available to Women’s Connection groups.

Ordering online at stonecroft.org is easy and instructions are outlined in the catalog for your convenience. Both the online form and the Group Supplies Catalog contain an image, description, and packaging information for commonly used Group Supply items.

Please evaluate supplies you currently have on hand and order accordingly. We ask that you order a minimum of a six-month to a year’s supply. Please help us process orders in a timely manner by placing your order as soon as possible – and before May 20 – to guarantee delivery in early June.

If you are Women’s Connection Chair and haven’t received your catalog by April 15 or need help ordering your supplies, contact Ministry Support at [email protected] or 800.525.8627. We’ll be delighted to assist you!

While you’re planning for your supply needs, we encourage you to evaluate your group from an evangelistic perspective and prayerfully consider steps your team will take this year to further the vision of reaching others with the Gospel. Let’s rally together in prayer! Perhaps begin a fresh dialogue about outreaches your group can do together and brainstorm creative ways of inviting first-time guests. Encourage women to lead a new Bible study to help others grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Each of us has a gift to share!

Updated Version of Why Believe? Stonecroft Bible Study Available

Does God exist? Is the Bible true? Those seeking answers to these questions and more can explore compelling evidence that shows why faith is a reasonable response in a skeptical world. This four-chapter study invites you to investigate scientific and historical evidence that backs up the Bible’s claims that God exists, He left a message for us, and He desires a personal relationship with you.

The revised study combines information found in both the guide and study books in our classic version of this apologetics Bible study. Information based on new discoveries has been updated.

Great for one-on-one and small group study! Order at stonecroft.org/store or call 888.819.5218.

Join us for Easter Prays

All it takes is one simple question: “How can I pray for you?”

During this Lenten season, ask that question of friends, family members, co-workers, and others you pass by daily. Then record their prayer requests on the “Easter Prays” cards we’ve provided for you at stonecroft.org/prays. Pray daily for that person throughout Lent and later follow up with him or her to find out how God answered. Afterward, share your Easter Prays stories at stonecroft.org/prays (scroll to “What is God Doing?”). Tell us your stories by May 3 and you’ll be entered to win a special giveaway! Watch for more details in future correspondence from Stonecroft and on our social media pages.
