Suzy Shepherd Named to New Position at Stonecroft

Congratulations to staff member Suzy Shepherd, who recently was named Stonecroft’s Catalysts Director. In this new position, Suzy creates ministry-wide projects designed to spark Stonecroft’s ability to sustainably reach 1 million women with the Gospel by 2025. She also serves on the Staff Leadership Team and works closely with Stonecroft’s Stewardship and Transformation teams.

During her first year in this new assignment, Suzy will focus on creating campaigns and coalitions of volunteer leaders and exploring different forms of conferences for Stonecroft women. She currently is preparing to launch Stonecroft’s Catalyst Coalition. This group of volunteers will lend their experience, giftings, and passion to co-create pathways of growth for Stonecroft, working with staff and Board members.

Suzy joined our staff in 2016 as Central Divisional Field Director, serving volunteers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa. She also is the creator of Where Love Lives, Stonecroft’s new small-group experience begun in February.

Before her service with Stonecroft, Suzy created and led a women’s ministry organization and taught elementary school. She and her husband have nine children and live in Tyler, Texas.

Prayer Emphasis Planned for September

Prayer is central to everything we’re about at Stonecroft, but this year we’re planning a special emphasis on prayer throughout September. In past years, we have encouraged volunteers to participate in Stonecroft’s annual Prays Walk held on a specific day in September. But this September, we suggest you and your group do a Prays Walk whenever God leads you during the month.

Start with taking prayer to your neighborhood or the broader community, going to places where you can meet people in need of prayer. Let God use you to love others by offering prayer and sharing the Good News as you walk. Watch for more details about Prays Walk in upcoming communication from Stonecroft.

If you don’t feel led to do a Prays Walk, consider planning your own creative gathering focused on evangelistic prayer. Also, you might want to ask family, friends, and others for prayer requests and then pray for these throughout the month.

Click HERE to download a document on evangelistic prayer that can be used to guide your prayers during September and beyond. For more ideas and inspiration on prayer, visit stonecroft.org/prayer.

Create a Facebook Fundraiser for Stonecroft!

Did you know that Stonecroft now accepts financial contributions through Facebook? That means you can set up your own Facebook fundraiser to invite your friends to help expand the Gospel in your community and across the nation by giving financially to Stonecroft. It’s a great way to promote Stonecroft among your Facebook friends and to involve them immediately in a cause you care about.

It takes $137 to support and resource one Stonecroft woman to share Jesus in her community. One small gift of $1 from each of your Facebook friends could quickly make it possible for yet another Stonecroft volunteer to get the valuable training she needs. You can plan a Stonecroft Facebook fundraiser as a celebration of your birthday – or at any other time. Learn how to create your Facebook fundraiser for Stonecroft at facebook.com/fund/wearestonecroft/.

Thank you for all you do to participate in the purpose of Stonecroft – seeing women reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.
