One of my favorite escapes is to a nearby coffee shop where I can order a honey latte. My barista loves to create special coffeedesigns. So simple, yet in that moment, when I savor both the coffee and the barista’s personal touch, I experience a moment of tranquility.

Women seek peace in many ways – and they’re searching for serenity that lasts longer than a latte. Lately, I’ve seen some of my struggling friends turn to counterfeit solutions and addictions. My heart aches for them, and I long for them to seek the person of Jesus Christ – to take a risk, go counter-culture, and reach out and touch the One who can bring them peace.

Do you believe that if women would respond in faith to Christ, He would heal them? If I am honest, I believe this in my head, but sometimes my actions do not bring women to the healing touch Jesus can offer. In my fear of rejection or gossip, I wimp out in pointing women towards the healing work of Jesus. And yet I am reminded of this Scripture:

“A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure. Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.”

 – Luke 8:43-44

Wow! She experienced immediate relief after twelve years of hemorrhaging. Pondering this story makes me remember who Jesus Christ is, and how He is available to set women free through His ministry of healing and deliverance.

In times of pain and heartache, Christ can envelope those who seek Him with His love and peace.
