Lorraine Potter Zechmann (formerly Kalal) to Leave Helm of Stonecroft Ministries, Inc.
OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – The National Board of Directors of Stonecroft Ministries, Inc., has
announced the resignation of Lorraine Potter Zechmann (formerly Lorraine Potter Kalal) as
Stonecroft’s President and CEO, effective April 28.
Zechmann has led Stonecroft, an international women’s evangelism organization with partnerships
in more than 40 countries, since September 2012. “We’re grateful for the leadership Lorraine
provided to Stonecroft these past five and a half years,” said National Board Chair Emily Firnstahl.
The decision was not reached lightly, but through months of prayer. Zechmann sensed God leading
her to this transition, as mentioned in a letter to Stonecroft’s 15,000 U.S. volunteers.
Firnstahl thanked Zechmann for bringing to the 80-year-old organization a renewed vision and
excitement for reaching each woman – “where she is, as she is” – with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Lorraine was singularly focused on helping volunteers of all ages share the Gospel,” Firnstahl said.
More than 21,000 new attendees this past program year have participated in outreach events led by
volunteers from the organization’s flagship ministry, Women’s Connection (also known as Christian
Women’s Clubs).
In addition, Firnstahl noted that the formation of local evangelistic entities called “hubs” and the
development of many new avenues of evangelism that engage young women were highlights of
Zechmann’s tenure. These new outreaches include Story Marks, Detox – find your balance, and The
Story of Now training.
“The credit goes to God and the amazing Stonecroft staff and volunteers for all that has transpired,”
Zechmann said of her service through Stonecroft. “I always sensed that God alone was steering a
boat that I had the privilege of sitting in!”
A transition team will be named to lead the organization while Stonecroft’s Board conducts a
national search for a new executive following Zechmann’s departure.
Zechmann’s immediate plans are to spend more time with her husband, Bill, and their families. The
couple married March 24.
