An outreach gathering at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Nebraska.

Military bases and posts teem with younger and diverse women who long for authentic fellowship. Many have spiritual questions, but no connection to the base chapel or a church.

“A Military base is one of the most diverse communities you can reach,” says Doris Thompson, VP of Outreach. “We interact with women of many different faiths, cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.”

Active duty women and military wives often need a safe place to share their hearts’ concerns. Stonecroft staff and volunteers developed new, smaller military outreaches that provide just such an environment. These informal gatherings speak to issues such as self-image and gossip. During the events, Christian women candidly tell their stories of brokenness and share about the love they found in Jesus Christ. They invite attendees to begin a relationship with Him. And many do! Many also sign up for small groups facilitated by new, young Stonecroft volunteers from the base or post.

As military women move from base to base, they begin new outreaches.

Pauletta Staley, National Director of Military, says, “We have prayed for diversity. Through Stonecroft Military, God has simply handed it to us. Everywhere we go.”
