Military spouses have a difficult job! It requires managing the house with little-to-no help, and typically it is not because their spouses don’t want to help. It’s because their job takes them away from the house.

My husband and I have been managing this very issue for the last seven years of our lives. We’ve had some very trying days and some truly amazing days! Still, I would have to say that right now is the most difficult season of life, as well as the most important.

Earlier this summer my husband deployed to Saudi Arabia. He left behind his five-year-old daughter, Colbie Anne, his three-year-old son, Heston, and me, his very pregnant wife (I’m due at the end of September). In the month he has been gone, life has not slowed down one little bit, and honestly I would venture to say it has sped up! At least it has felt that way. And just when I start to think I can’t keep up pace or meet the demands of life, I am reminded of Jesus’ strength and endurance.

You see, Jesus never complained about the tasks or demands that life placed on Him. He took it all in stride. In moments of difficulty, He turned to His Father for the strength that He did not possess.

“One day … Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night.”
