Can prayer be an outreach?

The Prays Walk encourages women to step out and intersect with the lives of those in our communities in  practical ways. When we leave the comfort of our homes and allow room for the Holy Spirit to work through us, amazing things happen.

Women gather to walk and pray, asking God to make us aware of those around us. As we notice others walking in our neighborhood, a park, or a mall, our groups sensitively ask them if they would like to share a prayer request. A simple question such as “How can we pray for you?” hopefully leads to an opportunity to share the Gospel.

Volunteer experiences

Here are some Prays Walk experiences shared by our volunteers:

“There were many families and groups walking in the gardens. Everyone we encountered was friendly and appreciative of the water (we gave them) and of our offers to pray for needs. We walked, stopped and prayed, and shared verses. We were well received. God is opening the hearts of store owners to let us pray in and outside their facilities and encouraging Christian groups to meet.”

“Several business employees/owners shared prayer requests, even two cars driving by stopped and prayed with us. One business asked us to come in and were delighted someone was praying for their donut shop.”

“We definitely felt revival because of the community working together with preparing for the flood that was being predicted the weekend of the Prays drive, God is alive!”

What are your holiday plans?

So how about slowing down to experience the joy of investing in relationship this holiday season? Stonecroft invites you to take a simple approach in caring for others this season.

Most of us celebrate with loved ones, but some spend their holidays hurting and alone, often reminded of those they’ve lost. Imagine the difference it could make to take time to listen intently to a hurting woman and then being still before the Lord interceding on her behalf. Holiday Prays is the perfect way to generously extend the love of Jesus to others.
