Greetings!

Stonecroft’s first outreach–Christian Business and Professional Women’s Councils–began on the heels of prayer. Seventy-six years ago, 25 prayer groups asked God to reveal effective avenues by which to tell others about His love. He answered above and beyond all that we can ask or imagine!

Stonecroft staff and volunteers recognize prayer as a necessary part of evangelism. We know we need God’s wisdom, direction, power, and love to proceed in our Gospel-sharing efforts.

How do we continue to emphasize prayer?

  • More than 600 Prayer Connections regularly pray for upcoming Women’s Connections and similar outreaches—that newcomers would attend, that God would be active in the lives of everyone who shows up, that the speaker and all aspects of the event would receive His blessing, and that women would begin a relationship with Jesus.
  • Stonecroft Bible Studies Guides doubtless include prayer as a key aspect as they lead women to study the Bible in more than 9,500 small groups in 2014.
  • More than 500 women gather in 150 Stonecroft Prays! to ask God to show them how to best reach women in their communities with the Gospel. And some have moved out to share the Gospel in new ways.
  • Last October, more than 900 women in more than 200 gatherings walked their communities and prayed for the women around them during our first nationwide Prays! Walk. They prayed to have God’s heart for those who don’t know Him and for new avenues by which to share the Gospel. God moved. And many women never before part of Stonecroft joined those walks. Look for more information in 2orMore and at stonecroft.org about the upcoming Prays! Walk set for May 30.
  • Stonecroft’s Home Office staff joins together three times a week to pray for our outreaches, the ministry, and personal needs. Staff members also pray during small group Bible studies and departmental meetings. Send your event invitations or other needs and we will gladly take your requests to the Lord. You may email us at [email protected] or call 800.525.8627.
  • The entire Stonecroft staff meets monthly for an extended time of prayer. We pray for both ministry requests and personal needs. We also set aside time as individuals to pray for the ministry. Those of us who work at the new Home Office use a prayer room dedicated for that purpose. We also endeavor to begin and end every meeting with prayer. We can’t carry on Stonecroft’s work without Jesus!

I encourage you to persist and endure in your prayers for Stonecroft—individually, with your Prayer Connections, through Prays!, and any time you gather with Stonecroft women. God hasn’t answered all our prayers, but prayer always works! Prayer doesn’t twist God’s arm to do what we want, but through prayer, God twists our hearts to line up with His!

Throughout history, outpourings of prayer precede revival. I believe that as God convicts us to pray in new and deeper ways, He will follow with new life in many of our groups, many new, younger, diverse volunteers engaged in evangelism, and many women entering a new relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
