20 minutes of soul-refreshing personal time creates a reserve of balance and rest for the day ahead. What should you do for those 20 minutes?

Pray – start your day with a thankful heart!

Read (10 min) – get inspired. Read Scripture or a Bible-based devotion or Christian book that helps you reflect on life’s choices. You may want to read on a digital device, download a Bible, or use a devotion app.

Journal (5 min) – record your thoughts from your prayer time and reading. You can do this either during or after prayer and reading. Journal thoughts you had for planning your day. Use either pen and paper or a journaling/notes app.

Plan (5 min) – mentally walk through and pray about your day. This helps you seize control of the day, alleviate stress, and stay on track as the day progresses. Don’t try to handle any of the to-dos you think of – just reflect and plan. Then hand the next 24 hours over to God in prayer, and smile at the day ahead!

Hint: if you use a computer or other device to read the Bible, resist the urge to look at other apps or social media.
