February. The month we celebrate love. Let’s show Christ’s love by practicing some random acts of kindness this month! We can do them on our own, or team up with a friend to see how many we can complete before the end of the month.
- Pay and pray for the person behind you in the drive-thru
- Remind first responders how much God loves them. Stop by the neighborhood police or fire station with some sweet treats
- Drop off popcorn for the staff at our child’s school or our church office
- Take flowers to a co-worker for no reason at all
- Prepare care packages for cancer patients (include coloring books, colored pencils, fluffy slippers or socks, lip balm, unscented lotions and a beautiful scarf or wrap)
- Take cookies and a note of encouragement to a neighbor
- Leave a gift card or candy bar for the postal carrier
- Take an elderly friend out for coffee and dessert
- Volunteer at a nonprofit organization
- Ask Facebook friends how to can pray for them (then pray)
- Purchase a vending machine snack and leave it for the next person
- Offer an elderly friend a ride to an appointment or event
- Check on a sick friend and ask to do her grocery shopping
- Drop off diapers at a shelter
- Pray for random strangers (perhaps the people in the car next to us at a stoplight)
- Treat the neighborhood kids to ice cream
- Offer to babysit for a single mom or brand-new parents
The opportunities are endless! Remember Hebrews 13:2: “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!”
