One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.

– Psalm 145:4, ESV

For he issued his laws to Jacob;
he gave his instructions to Israel.
He commanded our ancestors
to teach them to their children,
so the next generation might know them—
even the children not yet born—
and they in turn will teach their own children.
So each generation should set its hope anew on God,
not forgetting his glorious miracles
and obeying his commands.
Then they will not be like their ancestors—
stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful,
refusing to give their hearts to God.

– Psalm 78:5-8, NLT

I love the Bible. It encourages me, offers me hope and gives me instructions and words of wisdom. It is alive, active and sharper than a double edged sword. Scripture has the ability to cut right through my false ideals and reveal the intent of my heart.

I did not grow up in a praying home. Our family did not attend church and no one ever mentioned God’s commandments or talked about God as the Creator of our soul. You might say our family was a wondering generality … not a meaningful specific. No one spoke of passing down anything to another generation. I did, however, see this concept lived out in of some of my friends’ families.

The life well lived for God is very compelling. I am compelled to pass along the love of God and the truths about who He is to my children and their children, and to those we encounter in the military – that a generation not yet born will know the power, miracles and trustworthiness of God.

As a ministry, we see a substantial need to mentor and model the love of God and His truths to women facing amazing challenges, loneliness and isolation.

It is an honor to be a part of a ministry compelled to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with women and families who serve in the Military of this great nation. May God continue to compel each of us to stay the course and continue this eternal work. May we model prayer and a love for the Bible, and may we invite others to join us.
