Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

– Colossians 3:16-17

Those in service to our country and their families deal with many challenges and stresses. The upcoming holiday-filled months  can add to these challenges for military families.

The Bible is filled with verses relating to and encouraging a heart of Thanksgiving. As a ministry, Stonecroft has a heart of compassion for the families and women involved in the military.

We recognize the needs in our own military communities. We have opportunities to profoundly bless military families with small acts of service. The average military wife is younger than 35 and has two kids under the age of five. A friend of mine, who fits that demographic, describes herself as going into “single mom mode” when her husband is away. She battles the thoughts about her spouse’s safety and his mindset. During November, many military families are far away from family and friends. May we prayerfully consider inviting a military family to our Thanksgiving table. Or perhaps inviting a military mom and her children to a pumpkin patch or hay ride or corn maze. May we model an attitude of gratitude this season.
