Stonecroft’s 8th Mission Trip to Mexico: ‘God Connected Us’

A team of Stonecroft women and several of their family members spent a week in Mexico in February sharing the Gospel and training local believers in evangelism. The nine-member team from Colorado, Nevada, and Wyoming partnered with Mexican believers to lead outreaches for couples, women, and children in communities near Puerto Vallarta along the Pacific Coast. Volunteers and Mexican partners conducted a “Prayer Bean Walk” in two communities, where they shared the Gospel while distributing bags of beans, a staple in the local diet. The team also gave away 450 copies of a Stonecroft Life Publication in Spanish, ¿Adonde Vamos? (“Where are we going?); gift bags for children; and baby blankets – made by Stonecroft women in Colorado – for families in need.

“It was amazing to see how God went ahead of us and paved the way …  how He put everything together, even in how the friendships were made” between the U.S. and Mexican volunteers, recalls team leader Michelle Cartwright, Stonecroft Field Director for the Mountain Division. “God really connected us. We started and ended everything we did in prayer.”

For Michelle, a highlight of this trip – Stonecroft’s 8th annual mission trip to Mexico – was working directly with Mexican women who desire to go beyond the walls of their church to share the Gospel but aren’t sure how to do that. “We emphasized to them that Stonecroft was about equipping women to share the Gospel in their communities,” she recalls. “They said, ‘That’s what we want! Teach us how!’”

Michelle adds: “God truly has partnered us with them. He’s sent us to this place in the world to help equip and train these believers to share the Gospel. It’s awesome to be a part of that!”

First Stonecroft Hub Launched in California

Welcome to our newest hub and our first in California – Stonecroft Orange County CA, launched in February! This addition means we now have 26 Stonecroft hubs in communities across the United States, more than triple the total hubs we counted a year ago.

“I am so glad that you all joined Stonecroft as volunteers who love to tell people about the person you’re in love with – Jesus Christ!” said Lorraine Potter Kalal, Stonecroft President and CEO, in a recent social-media message welcoming the California hub and three other hubs announced in our February enewsletter.

Primarily led by younger women, each hub is a local group of Christian women of all ages who together develop in their knowledge of God and learn to share the Gospel in their community. They gather for prayer, training, outreach planning, and community building

To learn more about hubs, go to stonecroft.org/hubs. Be sure to view the video about “Gather Dream Go,” our kickoff event that serves as the official launch of a Stonecroft hub.
