Have you ever wanted to change yourself from the inside out? Have you longed to be who God’s called you to be but really don’t know how to start? The Bible says that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! To begin this new life, we must be intentional about following Christ, and not continuing to lead ourselves through our life circumstances. How do we do this? How do we do live differently to experience this new life made through our salvation? In Romans 12:2 Paul gives this directive:

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

When we read Scripture, we change the way we think, which transforms us into the people God has called us to be. Changing our minds produces new behaviors that shine God’s light on others. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. …” When we accept Christ as our Savior and read the Bible faithfully, we become more than we could ever imagine.
