John 9 tells the story of a man who was born blind. It's interesting to note that when the disciples first met him, they seemed to have no empathy for this man. Instead, they asked Jesus the theological implications of the man's blindness. Jesus responded by explaining that the man's blindness was not the result of his or his parent's sin, but so the work of God could be displayed in his life.
