A Parable of Rebuilding

Have you ever lived in a home while tackling a remodel? In our last home, we lived through four months of dust, noise, debris, brought on by the early morning visits from construction workers. When the work was completed, we could all breathe a sigh of relief and celebrate a job well done! In scripture there are many stories about the people of God doing their own remodels. One familiar story is found in Nehemiah as the people rebuilt the torn-down wall. As they worked through two months of repair and rebuilding, they went from defeat and despair to joy and celebration.
