CREATIVE, BENEFICIAL GIVING
Sue Vogt, Special Assistant to the President/CEO
Scripture is full of examples where people serving God's kingdom raised the resources needed to fund the work. In Exodus, the Lord gave Moses specific details on how, what, and from whom to raise the resources for the building of the tabernacle:
"The Lord spoke to Moses: Tell the Israelites to take an offering for Me. You are to take my offering from everyone whose heart stirs him [to give]. This is the offering you are to receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; ram skins dyed red and manatee skins, acacia wood; oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for fragrant incense. . . ." —Exodus 25:1-7
Today Stonecroft Ministries depends on its volunteers whose hearts are stirred to give. Your gifts fund the programs, training, materials, communications, technology, resources, and administrative support that go hand in hand with the work of God's kingdom.
Americans are some of the most generous people in the world, with a long and rich history of giving. Our culture of giving remains strong and the government enables our citizens to reap significant tax benefits when they give generously. Unfortunately, most people are not aware of the many beneficial, creative giving avenues available to them. They miss opportunities to blend the funding of kingdom work with practicality, convenience, and good stewardship.
So what do these opportunities look like? We'd love to discuss some options with you. For information on how you can give to Stonecroft Ministries and benefit from creative giving opportunities, contact Joan Johnson in Donor Services at 1.800.525.8627 or jjohnson@stonecroft.org.
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be." —Matthew 6:21
Stonecroft Ministries advises you to always consult your trusted advisor before you make any gift considerations that have a financial impact. In most cases, illustrations of the benefits of these giving options are available to you to discuss with your advisor.
THE MINISTRY OF GIVING
When we think of ministry, we typically think of prayer, Bible study, and leading others to salvation in Jesus Christ. But giving is also a sometimes overlooked aspect of ministry. Those who give in response to God’s grace provide the resources that enable other ministry work to go forward.
Stonecroft has made a world of difference in the lives of a great many people because God continues to bless our work through your giving. Please join us in praying for another blessed and effective year of equipping and encouraging women to impact their communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your involvement and faithful support of Stonecroft Ministries. We pray that you will continue to invest generously of your time, talent, and treasures in the work that God has given to us.
Our Advancement Team is ready to answer your stewardship questions. Please call Joan Johnson at 1-800-525-8627, or email: jjohnson@stonecroft.org.

THE TAX-WISE BENEFITS OF GIFTS OF STOCK
Giving Stonecroft Ministries a gift of appreciated stock or mutual funds allows you to take a charitable deduction on the fair market value of the investment and avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated value.
For example, if you purchased stock or a mutual fund for $1,000 and the value has increased to $10,000, you can gift the investment to Stonecroft, take a charitable deduction of $10,000, and avoid a capital gains tax of 15% (or more, depending on the state) on the $9,000 gain.
The gift transfer for the 2007 tax year must take place no later than December 31.
For questions or more information about giving gifts of stock and other assets, please e-mail jjohnson@stonecroft.org.
To transfer stock to Stonecroft Ministries, call 1-800-525-8627 and ask for Jim Baker, extension 126 or Joan Johnson, extension 117.
PRAYER SUPPORT
From the very beginning, prayer has had a central place in Stonecroft Ministries. God said without Him we can do nothing and we are very much aware of how true this is. Prayer is the power behind the people and programs that make up Stonecroft Ministries, and prayer is the power that will enable you to observe God working in your own life and in the lives of those around you.
