Outside of all the hooplah about Twitter, it's actually a really simple thing. You log in, type a message under 140 characters, hit "update" and all your community of friends can read along. Not bad huh?

It is so simple, the purpose might elude you. You see, it's just a quick way you can stay in touch. However, Twitter lets you speak to the world in all kinds of places, even from your phone!

How 2 - Learn to Twitter
by following these easy steps!

How to Sign Up:
Go to www.twitter.com/stonecroft and click "Join today", then just follow the instructions!


How to Tweet:
Log in, then click on "Home" and type your thoughts in under 140 characters, because you're interesting!


How to Follow:
Log in, then click on "Find People" and search for people on Twitter and "Follow" them and maybe they will start following you! You know they will... you're irresistible!


How to Style Your Page:
Log in, click on "Settings" and then "Design". Now click on a theme and press the "Save changes" button. Lookin' good!

Now maybe you're satisfied, but some of us want a bit more. So as you get more comfortable, experiment with the colors by clicking on the "Change Design Colors" link under the themes.If you're brave, you can even try uploading a background image by clicking on the "Change Background Image" link under the themes. Have fun! There are no style police on Twitter, except maybe your friends!


How to @ Reply:
You can reply to people when they tweet you. Just log in, pick a friend you follow and then type @ and their username like so: @somebody. If you want to reply to Stonecroft's tweets, just type @stonecroft then your message. READ MORE


How to ReTweet:
Don't run away! ReTWEET, not retreat! When you like what someone says, press "Retweet" and it will forward to all your followers. This is how things can "go viral" online (spread like a disease—in a good way, of course). Who knows? Maybe someone will retweet your little inspirational nugget and you'll be famous!


How to Use #HashTags:
First let me explain. You can create a hash tag by using the number sign # to identify a subject in your tweet. So if you are tweeting about Stonecroft, you could use #Stonecroft, and people looking for Stonecroft information on Twitter can see your Stonecroft tweet!

Okay, so you signed up. Now what?

By now you might have made a few tweets, telling others what you are doing. But is anybody really listening? It may take some time to get people's attention, but eventually you will get people who will "follow" you.

The best way to get more followers is to learn to follow. Kinda deep, huh? But it's true! Search for "Stonecroft," "friends," or even "TV Stars" and then press "follow." Often when you follow others, they will in turn follow you. Then you can talk back and forth to each other!

  2. Search for people.
  3. Look for the "follow" button and press it.
  4. Their tweets will show up on your twitter home page. (If they follow you, your tweets will show up on their twitter home page.)
