Connect Begins Its Third Year

As Connect enters its third year of ministering to women who lead in ministry, leaders representing several Kansas City area churches and organizations gathered on the Stonecroft campus to hear from author, speaker, and theologian Carolyn Custis-James as she expounded on her recent book Half the Church.

During the 45-minute question and answer webcast, Carolyn spoke of the blessed alliance God created between men and women. We are His masterpieces, both male and female, and He meant for us to work together for the Kingdom. Attendees were reminded that we were made in the image of God. We are His "image bearers" commanded to live productive lives, to rule the whole Earth, and to subdue the Enemy's efforts. 

Citing global atrocities and oppression aimed at young girls and women, including human trafficking, Carolyn stated, "The challenge is not to insulate ourselves from conflict or accept it fatalistically, but to lean into the conflict, face it head-on and to engage it... respond to what it asks of us." 

A compelling solution to the problem is women living in the calling they are given by raising the alarm within the Body of Christ so she can be the first to champion the empowerment of women and girls throughout the world. All can become contributing members in their society regardless of their demographics or circumstances.
